Umbra Group is an independent media group founded in June 2012 with Indietheka — the longest-running Spanish-language indie outlet still in operation. It has grown into five properties spanning editorial, community, platform, services, and consulting. Each runs on its own frequency, but they share one editorial standard, one design language, and one operating team.

Each property occupies its own wavelength on the visible spectrum — from Orbit in the ultraviolet to Radiohead Community in the infrared. Plotted on a single axis, they read as one instrument.
Umbra Studio sits at the center of the system.
The group runs on what the studio builds. Umbra Studio is the forward-deployed AI engineering arm at the center — it rebuilt our own newsroom first, then externalized the patterns the rest of the constellation runs on. Every property orbits the same operating discipline.
Working systems, not decks.
Studio is the consulting arm for the agentic era. It works with operators on high-friction workflows and rebuilds them with agents end-to-end — then keeps operating the system for the client under Watch. The same engine that built the group is available to build and run yours.
